huge selection of sweets! cakes, cookies, pastries, donuts, brownies, all kinds of things- too many to name. my review is based on what I tried which was: carrot cake cupcake, buttercream cupcake, cream cheese frosted brownie, angel cream donut, cherry pastry, apple cinnamon coffee cake, cheese danish, cream horns, creamsicle cupcakes, and a custard puff. both of the cupcakes were great- soft, moist, nice flavor and both of the frostings were great, especially the buttercream- it was very unique and had a flavor unlike other buttercream frostings..reminded me of a wedding cake I had once. will definitely go back for that one. The mini cakes are basically the same as the cupcakes with the same delicious buttercream. The creamsicle cupcakes were soft but I didn't care for them because the frosting was a whipped cream type frosting. the custard puff was very flaky- the pastry part of it was wonderful, it had some fudge type icing on top which was really good too. the custard was- meh. didnt care for it. not much flavor. consistency was good though. The cream horns were amazing, flaky, great flavor and texture, loved them. The cheese danish was good, better after being in the microwave for a few seconds.. the apple cinnamon coffee cake was soft, moist, and also good. the angel cream donut was awful. i took one bite and spit it out. im not wasting calories on something which isnt enjoyable at all...it was dried out and kinda hard and seemed old, the actual donut part didnt have a good flavor- was bland and there was barely any angel cream inside, maybe 2 tbsp....although the little amount of it that was there was good and i did eat that before tossing the rest out. If youve ever had an angel cream donut from Paulas you know the high expectations you would have and this donut couldnt ever even come close to competing with paulas. the brownie was also bland. brownies from tops are better. the cream cheese frosting with chocolate shaving was good on top but the actual brownie was just bland, although the texture was decent, it was fairly moist. the cherry pastry- another fail unfortunately. it was like that canned cherry filling you buy in the store and the whole thing seemed like it wasnt home made, it seemed like pre-packaged dough and filling. not impressive at all. like something you would buy at a low quality place, i would expect better from a bakery with such a great reputation like this one. I much prefer butter block bakery, but I will be going back here for cupcakes and cream horns!!
Fantastic full service bakery. Kind and caring staff. Even with all the Christmas chaos, the order was ready and perfect and everyone was friendly.
Picked up great bread, Rye and assorted Christmas cookies. One bad cookie. A tiny gingerbread man. Tough and dry, was old I feel...not fresh at all. Rest of cookies were delicious as usual.
Today was my first visit… I managed a bakery for 35 years and just retired earlier this year, everyone working behind the counter were very friendly and offered assistance. Just wanted to pick up a few cookies for my granddaughters birthday but ended up with much more… everything is fresh, and delicious ! I will definitely be back!!! Thank you for all you do!!!!!
Very disappointing, I bought 3 almond horns and there was very little to no almond paste in the product. I will not be buying them again.
Eileens is a true treasure. They have a huge selection of treats! Their cookies were delicious. I got their old school sugar cookies in a shape of a wreath and Santa they tasted just like when I use to have them a child. The white star cookies covered in frosting and sprinkles were soooo sooo good. Prices are more than reasonable. The staff every single time I’m in there are so kind and friendly and I never feel rushed to decide even when they are busy which is often. The cannoli was solid. But I enjoyed their fry cakes so much more and their cookies. They also have a small deli next door which has great funds including deli meats by weight and fresh and frozen meats. Give this place a visit you won’t regret it.
Oh and we also found out you can purchase cookies to decorate on your own for Christmas. They can be frosted or just plain. They also sell frosting by weight as well.
My Mom and I were the lucky recipients of a surprise gifting of Eileen's famous Almond Ring (thanks to the World's Best Brother-in-Law!). All the praise is worthy! 🏆🎉 If you like Almond Ring and haven't tried this one, you simply must. It was wonderful: generous in size, fresh as fresh can be, loaded with filling, iced to decadent perfection, sprinkled liberally with almond slivers, and it held up well over the next day or two. Just do it. Go get yourself one. 😉
Best bakery that brings back such wonderful memories. Definitely go there if you can you won't be disappointed
